What Would I Do Without You?

I love this sentiment--What Would I Do Without You--and thought it paired wonderfully with the Girlfriends stamp that I used here. In honor of the Memorial Day holiday, my project is in red, white, and blues and includes stars and stripes. After stamping this image in a waterproof dye ink, it was colored with Prisma watercolor pencils and blended with a blender pen. The white space of the main image was minimized by sponging Memento Summer Sky ink.

The inside of the card:

This card is a 5" square easel card. Easel cards are great because they fold flat for mailing but, once in the hands of the recipient, can be opened and displayed. The decorative ribbon and the button help to keep the card propped open.

Please be sure to take a moment today to remember the men and women who served in our armed forces and made the ultimate sacrifice in order to protect our country and our freedoms. Hello!  Happy Friday and the start to a 3 day weekend if you are within the USA. Did you know that memorial day used to be called Decoration Day? The alternative name of "Memorial Day" was first used in 1882. It did not become more common until after World War II, and was not declared the official name by Federal law until 1967.  Just a little history for ya.


JennK here with you today to share another card I created with the train stamp.  I used this stamp on a fathers day card a few weeks ago.  I love the versatility of this image.  This time I tried something different and paired the stamp with some beach themed papers.  I gotta tell ya I am really pleased with the final result.

Here it is...what do you think?  I just LOVE the colors and the fact that this image looks great whether I color it in or not.  Next is a picture of the inside of the card.  I really like to finish the inside too.

I hope you have enjoyed my card and the little history lesson today.  Hopefully I showed how versatile this image can be.

N is for Night time...

Hi there! Hope you are all having a wonderful Thursday. This is Jessica here today with a cute little owl stamp to show you. Today I am straying from my norm a little bit with a scrapbook page instead of a card. I went to the CKC convention this past week, and found these adorable velum ABC sets. I decided to pick up the ABC's of my first year set...my thought...I WILL complete an entire album for my nephew by his 1st birthday...which is in November...lol. Yeah I really do need to start this early, or honestly I will never finish it. I am so slow with scrapbooking...lol. Well I was inspired to try this for my post this week by Jerusha. If you missed her post from Monday, scroll down and check out her adorable scrapbook page she posted. Well here is mine.Here is a little close up of this adorable Sleepy Owl stamp from the QKR Stampede Store.
Isn't he cute??!!! I started by putting the yellow moon on the background (I cut that with the cricut), and added the little stars around. I glued the velum saying across the top. I stamped this tired little owl on white CS, and colored him with colored pencils. I used pencils because I wanted a lighter/softer look since this is a baby album. I added some yellow stickles to the stars and to the owl's moon. I also added some crystal effects to his glasses for a glassy look. Last thing I did on this page was make a photo mat. I thought my SIL can add her own pictures to each page after I give them the album. Well that is all from me today. Reliving Easter

Hi everyone, can you believe that it is almost June??? Wow this year is just flying by and there are days that I am feeling left behind.

Well you are going to be hearing from me a lot for a while as I have some getting caught up done.

Today I decided to do Easter layouts. On the LO with the Easter egg background, I used the Easter Bunny taking a bath. The background paper is from SEI and I made the basket and the butterfly. I colored my image with my Copics and added a little bling with the sticklers.

On the other page I used the bunny with a flower and also colored it with my copics and stickles. The background paper was bought at Michael's yrs ago. I have a few more Easter pics to scrapbook so you may see some more of them.

Gone Fishing

Good Morning! Well today I'm showing a Fathers Day card I made for a friend, I've wanted to play with my colored pencils,with some stamps. I feel that's the best way to go sometimes with stamps, I just love the way this turned out, I used my Derwert and Prisma pencil on this, After coloring, I went though my whole craft room to find the right embellishment, for the card, which actually was a pretty hard task for me... Since "Boy Type Cards" are not my specialty, although I am starting to enjoy making them because they challenge my creativity more, and I love our stamps and cant wait to get my new ones, This is the time where I will start my journey into making boy cards for a while so it's not as tuff on me when I try to make one.

Wizard bear

A little late, but here is my "Saturday"-card ...

 

Though the name of the stamp (24002 Wizard bear - from QKR Stampede) seems a little "masculine", the pink fairy dress and painted fingernails turned this bear into an adorable female wizard :-)

I used a sketch from Inspirational Card Sketches for the card.

Ride 'Em Cowgirl & Blog Hop Winner!

It's my turn to share with you today! Holly just used this stamp a few days ago on a card and it was just amazing! Today I thought I would show you how easy it is to create your own embellishment for a scrapbook page using the same stamp.

I had this old photo of my sister when she was about three years old, riding this pony. I thought it was cute and it reminded me of the awesome stamp, L:il Cowgirl. So I thought it would be fun to make my own embellishment for this layout:










It was so easy to do! I stamped and coloured the image, then ran it through my Cuttlebug using my Peony Nestabilities to cut it out. Then I used some of my colorbox chalk to ink the edges to coordinate with my patterned paper and the colours in my layout:









If you like to create layouts as well as cards, next time you're making one up think of how fun it would be to use a QKR Stampede stamp as an embellishment. It's a pretty cute one, if I do say so myself! And there are loads of great stamps in the store. Go on and check it out!
