Bear It All

Hi, Deb here with an August QKR Stampede Design Team project called Bear It All. This is very unique card because it's a multi-layered project that features a shaped front. How cute is this sneaky bear who's trying to escape the hospital? He's guaranteed to bring a smile to that special someone who is in hospital and might be feeling the same urge to get away.

Here's how to make this project.

Start by cutting a 5x7 inch card in blue and then cut the front panel down to two inches high. Next, cut a slightly smaller card in white and attach the white back panel to the blue back panel.

Print the front and back of the bear ( Sneaking Bear and Sneaking Away ) and the sentiment ( Bear It All ). Color the bear with Copics.

For the bear’s fur, use E55, E55 and E57. When totally dry, moisten a scrap of washcloth with a couple of drops of Copic Colorless Blender. Dab randomly over the bear, holding the cloth to the image for a second to allow the solution to remove some of the color. When dry again, color the night shirt with C00, C1 and B41. The band-aid can be done in E11.

Cut the front and back of the bear out with small scissors. Adhere the front of the bear by his feet to the card front. Then adhere the back of the bear to the front.

Decorate the front of the card with strips of cardstock embossed with a Cuttlebug folder, strips of ribbon, a button and a brad (looks like a paw print if you squint), and dots of Stickles.

Back the sentiment with the blue cardstock and attach to the inside of the white card.

This bear image just made me giggle when I first saw it. I’ve been in hospital a few times and I certainly felt that baring it all was turning me into a bear!
