Nurse Ann

Hello, this is Deb with an August QKR Stampede Design Team project – Nurse Ann. Framed art is a great gift for that special someone. Consider it for a very personal memento which will be cherished and displayed for years. This project was named for the featured Raggedy Ann but it was made with my favourite nurse in mind, so I might have titled it Nurse Renee.

Here’s how it came together. Start with a patterned piece of paper cut to fit your frame. If you need to use more than one piece of paper to make it big enough, go ahead and simply cover the seams with a strip of ribbon.

Next, print http://Digi Nurse and color. I used the following Copics:
Dress: YR000, YR00, YR01
Doll Body: E50, E51, R20
Medical Chart: E71, E74
Shoes & Clip: C00, C1, C3, C5, C7
Hair: E17, E18 and Spica pens in Orange and Gold

Cut and emboss the image with a Spellbinder shape, and sponge while still in the die with Distress Ink Dried Marigold.

Pull two colors from your patterned paper, and mat the image with two increasingly larger Spellbinder shapes. My sentiment was cut with Cricut’s Calligraphy cartridge and backed with the second color, but you could easily stamp a sentiment or use the recipient’s name. Fill out the remaining empty corner with a Spellbinder decorative shape, a flower, leaves and a bow in the dress color.

Almost any image can be used to create framed art. Give it a try!
